چکیده

Abstract Cu-based shape memory alloys belong to one important class of functional alloys, presenting effect and superelasticity due their reversible martensitic transformation. Although they have been extensively studied since the middle last century, there are still many challenges be solved. In decades, these were regarding new compositions, processing routes, phase transformation, mechanical properties. Aspects thermoelastic transformation described using thermodynamic thermo-mechanical studies, while role metallurgical features (such as grain size morphology, ordering, precipitates second phases) mainly by phenomenological approach. this sense review discusses advances in general fundamentals recent developments applications years. Magnetoelasticity and Magnetoresistance in Cu–Al–Mn Shape-Memory Alloys

This paper is aimed at studying the effect of a magnetic field on the martensitic transition of a Cu–Al–Mn shape-memory alloy. The martensitic transition has been studied through resistance measurements under applied magnetic fields ranging from 0 to 50 kOe. Negative magnetoresistance showing an almost linear dependence with the square of the magnetization has been observed. This magnetoresisti...

Diffusion of Mass in Liquid Metals and Alloys - Recent Experimental Developments and New Perspectives

Despite its tremendous importance for the understanding of underlying mechanisms and for the input in modeling and simulation of processes alike, accurate experimental diffusion data in liquid metals and alloys are rare. Common techniques exhibit several drawbacks that in most cases prevent an accurate measurement of diffusion coefficients convective contributions during diffusion annealing are...

Electrodeposition of Thin Film Cu-Zn Shape Memory Alloys

Cu-Zn alloys have been electrodeposited from a pyrophosphate electrolyte containing Cu2P207> Zn2P207 salts and an excess of K4P2O7 and KN03. Current-potential data for both copper and zinc, as well their plating current efficiencies were determined from electrochemical polarisation experiments. Copper deposition commenced at potentials below -0.208 V whereas zinc was deposited only below -1.157...

Magnetic Moment of Cu-Modified Ni2MnGa Magnetic Shape Memory Alloys

The magnetization measurements at 5 K were carried out for Ni2Mn1 − xCuxGa (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.40) and Ni2MnGa1 − yCuy (0 ≤ y ≤ 0.25) alloys. All of the magnetization curves are characteristic of ferromagnetism or ferrimagnetism. By using Arrott plot analysis the spontaneous magnetization of all samples was determined from the magnetization curves. The magnetic moment per formula unit, μs, at 5 K was es...

A new look at biomedical Ti-based shape memory alloys.

Shape memory alloys (SMAs) are materials that exhibit a distinct thermomechanical coupling, one that gives rise to a wide variety of applications across a broad range of fields. One of the most successful roles is in the construction of novel medical implants. Unfortunately, concerns have been raised about the biocompatibility of the most popular SMA, nitinol (NiTi), due to the known toxic, all...
